GCG recognizes as a bankruptcy and class action settlement administrator that protecting the personal and confidential data we are entrusted with is of utmost importance. To fulfill this responsibility, we have full-time staff overseeing all processes and practices from employment and personnel practices to building and information security.
Personnel Practices
GCG's employment and personnel practices are rigorous. Background checks for all candidates for employment go back at least 10 years, and network personnel have a probationary period of 90 days before being granted access to systems or the data center, which is always strictly on a need-to-know basis.
Building Security
GCG's premises, accessed only with electronic user ids which are then recorded in a database, are under video surveillance 24/7. Each individual's access to the data center, contained within a restricted network operations area, is reviewed and approved monthly. Anyone entering any of our facilities must wear a badge, and visitors are escorted at all times. Another physical step taken to protect information includes the shredding of waste paper on site under the supervision of a GCG employee, and in compliance with all court orders and relevant legal obligations.
Information Security
GCG follows the strictest recommended practices regarding issuing and managing passwords for accessing the network and propriety applications that disclose client data. The level of access provided to employees is the least amount of privilege to perform their required functions.
