GCG Promotes Angela Ferrante to Vice President, Bankruptcy Operations

Leader in legal settlement and bankruptcy administrations

Lake Success, N.Y. (June 25, 2012) -The Garden City Group, Inc. (GCG), a recognized leader in class action and bankruptcy administration, announced today that Angela Ferrante has been promoted to vice president, bankruptcy.

Ferrante, who is based in GCG’s corporate headquarters in Lake Success, N.Y., joined GCG in Jan. 2007. In 2009, Ferrante was promoted to senior director, bankruptcy operations and promoted again in 2011 to assistant vice president, bankruptcy. With this new promotion, Ferrante will join GCG’s senior management team to assist with new business efforts and continue to manage GCG’s bankruptcy operations.

During her five years with GCG, Ferrante has helped lead a significant expansion of the Company’s bankruptcy department. Ferrante has also played a key role in the administration of various cases of note, most recently AMR Corporation, et al. (American Airlines) and Motors Liquidation Corp. f/k/a General Motors Corporation.

“I am proud to recognize Angela with this well-deserved promotion,” said Karen Shaer, senior executive vice president and general counsel, to whom Ferrante reports. “She is a natural leader and has been an instrumental part of our bankruptcy department’s development and success.”

Before joining GCG, Ferrante practiced as a bankruptcy and restructuring attorney at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Before that, she received her juris doctor from Brooklyn Law School and her undergraduate degree from New York University.
