Denise Kaloudis Denise Kaloudis is a Senior Bankruptcy Consultant based in GCG’s Manhattan office. In this role, Ms. Kaloudis leads Bankruptcy business development initiatives for GCG. Ms. Kaloudis has extensive corporate restructuring experience, including representation of Chapter 11 debtors, both official and unofficial committees, rights offering backstoppers and other significant creditors and investors in larger, sophisticated bankruptcy cases. Her restructuring experience encompasses a variety of industries, including commercial real estate, automotive, retail, financial services, telecommunications and manufacturing industries. Prior to joining GCG, Ms. Kaloudis was Counsel in the Financial Restructuring Group at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, where she represented official and unofficial committees of unsecured creditors and creditors in high-profile cases such as General Growth Properties, Inc. and Cooper-Standard Automotive Holdings, as well as Chapter 11 debtors such as TerreStar Networks, Inc. Prior to joining Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, Ms. Kaloudis was a Corporate Restructuring Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, where she represented Chapter 11 debtors in complex restructuring cases, including representation of Winn-Dixie Store Inc., Refco Inc., and Delphi Inc. Ms. Kaloudis also represented numerous large creditors such as hedge funds, corporations and global investment and asset management firms of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and Lehman Brothers Inc. Before entering private practice, Ms. Kaloudis served as a law clerk for the Honorable Mary F. Walrath, former Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court of the District of Delaware. Ms. Kaloudis received her B.A. from New York University and J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. In addition, she studied briefly at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China. She is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Membership to the California state bar is currently pending. Ms. Kaloudis is a member of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Ms. Kaloudis also serves on the Associate Board of the New York Legal Assistance Group, a not-for-profit organization that provides free civil legal services to low income New Yorkers who would otherwise be unable to afford or receive legal assistance. |
